Sheffield United started with a 4-3-3-1 formation with Billy Sharp upfront supported by David McGoldrick and Morgan Gibbs-White.

They played with a relatively low defensive line with the majority of the players playing near the centre.

Millwall started in a 3-4-3 formation with Sheyi Ojo, Tom Bradshaw and Jed Wallace leading the attack.

They played with a relatively low defensive line with the majority of the players predominantly near the centre.

Sheffield United had a total of 10 attempts with just three of them on target, scoring once from an xG of 2.14. Millwall had 12 shots in total keeping five of them on target, scoring twice with an xG of 1.59. The home side dominated the possession heavily.

Billy Sharp had the most shots in the match(3) while naturally having the highest xG of 0.98. Oliver Norwood and Enda Stevens had the most final third passes with 11 each.

Most of Sheffield United’s shots were from outside the box but they failed to keep maximum of them within the sticks. They had a few shots from inside the box too, scoring the only goal from there.

Millwall were really wasteful inside the box, where they had the majority of the shots but failed to test the keeper often with shots drawn wide. They scored both their goals from distance, one even from near the wings.

The visitors started the game in a strong fashion and scored within the first 10 minutes. Sheffield United tried to get back the control of the game and they did, scoring the equalizer. However, they could not manage to extend their lead after dominating most of the game. Millwall waited for their chance and sealed off the game with an injury-time winner. The Blades had 63% of the ball with Enda Stevens playing the most passes(79) while receiving the most passes as well(44).

Ryan Leonard attempted the most passes with 45 and Jed Wallace received the most with 25 as the Lions enjoyed only 37% of possession.

The Blades had a mixed performance in terms of defensive duels. Ben Davies was the best performer with four successful duels while Enda Stevens was impressive.

They were extremely strong in the air at the back. John Egan was the stand out performer with 12 successful duels. Billy Sharp lost all of his duels higher up the pitch.

Millwall won the majority of the defensive duels at the back. George Saville won the most with five duels. Hutchinson won four duels but lost out on five occasions.

The Lions won a lot of aerial duels at the back but lost the majority of them up the pitch. Jake Cooper won five duels at the back while Tom Bradshaw lost 12 duels in the final third.

Tom Bradshaw lost six of his 50-50 duels as well upfront. Daniel Ballard and George Evans won the most with three each.

Sheffield United would be really disappointed to not take away any points from the match even after dominating most of it. They were not clinical in the attacking third and did not take advantage of their chances which came back to haunt them later. Millwall were strong at the back holding off the opponent attacks very well, were patient for their chances and killed off the game. It can turn out to be a very important away win for the Lions.
