Eduardo Herrera’s nightmare spell at Rangers looks to be at an end with the Mexican striker returning home to join Nexaca.

The 30-year-old joined the Gers in summer 2017, but has been an outcast almost ever since, and signed for Nexaca on a six-month loan at the back end of last season.

Steven Gerrard has made it clear that he does not see Herrera as part of his plans next season and as such, the striker has been allowed to look for another club.

And it seems like the Mexico international is set to sign for Aguascalientes side on a permanent basis, with the Daily Record claiming that he is reported for pre-season training.

Herrera played 23 times for the Ibrox side over two years, scoring just two goals.
