EA’s latest football video game offering releases on September 27th, and with the highly anticipated release of FC 25 comes a whole host of new ratings for the players in the game.

To commemorate the occasion, we at GSFN took the opportunity to look back at FC 24 and see who has made the biggest moves over the past 12 months.

Without further ado, here are the biggest La Liga upgrades in EA FC 25:

Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid) 86>90 (+4)

We kick off with one of the most influential footballers from the last year, and possibly the Ballon d’Or winner if England had beaten Spain in the final of Euro 2024.

Jude Bellingham sees a reasonable 4-point increase to his overall in FC 25, and with a potential of 94 in-game, he is one of the best players in the game’s career mode too.

Lamine Yamal (Barcelona) 76>81 (+5)

Lamine Yamal is a strange entry on this list, as he technically wasn’t present in FC 24, however, he was eventually added to the game as part of the Euro 2024 DLC, where he had a rating of 76 as part of Spain’s squad.

Yamal starts off at an overall of 81 in FC 25, seeing a +5 increase, and can also rise to a potential of 94 within the game’s career mode.

Yangel Herrera (Girona) 76>82 (+6)

Girona’s impressive La Liga campaign last time out was always going to see a few big upgrades when the next EA FC game came around, but with star men Artem Dovbyk and Yan Couto leaving for new surroundings, Yangel Herrera is the club’s biggest upgrade this year.

Making 29 appearances as part of Girona’s campaign which saw them earn Champions League qualification, Yangel Herrera was always going to get a decent upgrade, but some may believe other Girona players such as Viktor Tsygankov who wasn’t upgraded at all, may have been more deserving.

Andriy Lunin (Real Madrid) 74>81 (+7)

Without Andriy Lunin, it is entirely possible that Real Madrid may not have won the Champions League last season. In the absence of Thibaut Courtois, Lunin stepped up to the plate brilliantly to help guide Real Madrid to the final in London.

Such excellent performances have been reflected in his FC 25 rating of 81 overall. The Ukrainian may now be back to sitting on the bench at the Bernabéu, but he has more than proved himself as one of the best number 2s in world football over the last 12 months.

Beñat Prados (Athletic Club) 67>76 (+9)

In a surprising turn of events, Athletic Club midfielder Beñat Prados is La Liga’s biggest riser over the last 12 months, with a +9 increase seeing his rating grow from 67 to 76.

However, if you’ve been keeping an eye on how Bilbao played over the last year, you will know that this upgrade is no surprise. Last season was the breakout campaign for the 23-year-old as Athletic Club qualified for Europe for the first time since 2018.

Did EA get these upgrades right? Or is there anyone the game developers missed out on?
