Rebecca Spencer, Drew Spence and Jamaica have set up a showdown with Brazil in the FIFA Women's World Cup after beating Panama on Saturday - their first-ever victory in the finals of the competition.

The 1-0 victory at the Rectangular Stadium in Perth took Jamaica level on points with France at the top of Group F - second on goals scored - and nudged them a point ahead of Brazil in third. France beat Brazil earlier in the day in Brisbane.

The top two in the group progress to the Round of 16, so a draw will be enough for Rebecca and Drew when they face Brazil in the final group game in Melbourne.

Goalkeeper Rebecca and midfielder Drew both played a full shift as Jamaica had the better of it against Panama, but only had Allyson Swaby's header from Trudi Carter's corner on 56 minutes.

Drew was involved in most of Jamaica's best moments, a typical box-to-box display, always looking to drive forward. She came closest to opening the scoring twice in the first half, first a powerful run into the box followed by a shot into the side-netting, then a free-kick from 22 yards that curled over the wall and clipped the top of the crossbar. In added time, she had a shot blocked by Wendy Natis, a penalty initially awarded but overturned by VAR.

At the other end, Rebecca had little to do, comfortably fielding a couple of routine saves - she's yet to concede in two matches.
