The Sky Blues have made three additions to their squad so far this summer - Jack Rudoni from Huddersfield Town, Luis Binks from Bologna, and Raphael Borges Rodrigues from Macarthur.

Coventry finished 9th in the Championship last season and will hope that they can bridge the gap to the top six during the 2024/25 campaign.

Boss Mark Robins will know that he needs to strengthen his squad with further additions before the end of the transfer window and supporters will hope that one or two may come through the door this week.

Let's take a look at a couple of things that Coventry fans would love to see happen in the coming days.

Oliver Dovin signs

Coventry are in the market for a new goalkeeper, after Ben Wilson and Brad Collins both shared the role during the 2023/24 season, and Simon Moore moved to Sunderland this summer.

Robins explained that he had two good goalkeepers to choose from during last season in Wilson and Collins, but it now appears as though he wants further competition in that area of the pitch.

The Sky Blues have been strongly linked with a move for Oliver Dovin, who currently plays for Swedish club Hammarby.

According to journalist Daniel Kristoffersson via Sportbladet, Coventry have entered final negotiations and are hoping to complete a deal for the 22-year-old in the next few weeks.

Dovin came through the youth system at Hammarby and has gone on to feature on a regular basis in the first team for the club. The highly-rated goalkeeper, who was born in London, stands at six feet and two inches tall and has already picked up two caps for the Swedish national team, so he should be good enough to step into the first team for Coventry if that is what Robins has planned.

It will be interesting to see what happens to Coventry's goalkeeping department if Dovin is announced as a new signing, as it is unlikely that either Wilson or Collins will want to be third-choice next term.

The signing of a promising young goalkeeper in Dovin would definitely excite the fans.

A new striker is brought in

Coventry's current forward options include Ellis Simms, Haji Wright and Fabio Tavares. Simms and Wright scored a combined 29 goals in the Championship for the Sky Blues during the 2023/24 campaign, while Tavares scored three times in 10 appearances in all competitions.

Robins will surely want another attacker to ensure that he has enough options up front ahead of next season, especially considering that Tavares has not always featured as an out-and-out striker in the second tier for Coventry.

Experienced forward Matty Godden was sold by Coventry to League One side Charlton Athletic earlier on in the transfer window, after scoring six goals in 35 Championship appearances last season.

His departure means that the Sky Blues could do with finding another poacher to replace him, considering that Wright and Simms both provide height and physicality.

It would be great for the supporters if Coventry could bring in a proven finisher to complement the striking options they already have at the club and even better if they arrived this week to ensure they have time to bed in before the start of the new campaign.
