Jadon Sancho’s future dominated the headlines throughout last summer’s transfer window and the Borussia Dortmund star looks set to be the focus of another saga.
Manchester United remain keen on securing a deal for the England international after expressing their interest a year ago, though the Red Devils are said to be unwilling to meet Dortmund’s current valuation of around €100m (£85m).
That fee is a drop from the €120m demanded by the Bundesliga side last summer, a British transfer record sum United were unwilling to match.
Dortmund have recently revealed that they have a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ to sanction Sancho’s departure, and have dropped his asking price in light of the pandemic, though Eurosport are reporting the current valuation still remains above what Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are prepared to pay for the 21-year-old.
United had made the signing of the winger a priority last summer as the club look to address a problem position on the right-hand side, though the Red Devils are now set to face competition from Premier League rivals Chelsea.
Bild are reporting that the west Londoners are also interested in a deal to take Sancho to Stamford Bridge, with Thomas Tuchel preparing a raid on his former side for the England star.
Chelsea are expected to invest again after splashing out on a host of marquee arrivals last summer, with big-money bids for Sancho and Inter Milan forward Romelu Lukaku speculated in recent weeks.
Liverpool have also been linked with a potential move to Sancho as Jurgen Klopp looks to revamp his misfiring forward line, though whether they have the funds remains to be seen.
