Can Uzun talks about the move to Eintracht, his playing style and preferred position.

Can Uzun on ...

…first impressions: “I’m very happy to be here in Frankfurt and have settled in very well. The performance tests were strenuous and now I’m just looking forward to training. Eintracht is the perfect place and the perfect club for me. It’s a big club. I’m very focused on the task. I’ve been very well received here and feel really good.”

…the excitement around his signing: “Obviously I’m pleased that the fans are happy about it. That’s what you work for as a young player. I want to give the fans something back and will work very hard to do so. I’m really looking forward to meeting the fans and to the first game at our stadium.”

…his position: “I feel most comfortable playing on the left behind the striker, but I can also play at number nine or eight. Wherever the coach best sees me, I want to give my best performance. The coach was a big reason why I joined Eintracht – we had very good talks beforehand.”

…his aims: “I have big aims with Eintracht, but I want to do my talking on the pitch, not here. I want to achieve a lot with Eintracht. We’re working hard in pre-season to make it a good season. I’m happy about the competition for places and being able to play with these players. It helps me because the better your teammates, the better you can play too.”

…his playing style: “I don’t think a lot on the pitch; I act more instinctively. I don’t just define myself by goals, I can do more – but it’s certainly something I can do well.”

…his manner: “I’ve always been confident but not out of touch with reality – there’s a big difference. I know what I need to work on, which is fine. The coaching staff will help me to keep getting better.”

…his idol Lionel Messi: “For me, Messi is the best player of all time. There seems to be nothing he can’t do. He can decide and a shape a game on his own. I was always watching Messi videos as a kid, and still do. Everyone would probably like to be able to do what he can do on the ball.”
