On Thursday, French football’s financial watchdog, the DNCG, chose to green light Ligue 1 runners-up Marseille’s budget for the 2022/23 campaign.

The DNCG had provisionally suspended OM from market activity earlier on in the month as it was not totally satisfied by the accounts and budget put forth by the club to them.

To overcome this, owner Frank McCourt has had to personally make financial guarantees to make up for the club’s continuation of its structural deficit next season.

Marseille will face no transfer restrictions this summer and intend to be “ambitious without overspending,” according to OM sources contacted by RMC Sport.

The plan is to remove a number of players still at the club including: Kevin Strootman, Nemanja Radonjic, Jordan Amavi and Alvaro Gonzalez.

Javier Ribalta, has work to do.
