Manchester United still don’t have full functionality back a week after it was revealed the club was the victim of a sophisticated hacking attempt by cyber criminals.

According to Sky Sports, some members of staff are unable to access their emails, with other functions unavailable on their systems.

No customer data had been acquired which is a good thing, but the full extent of the attack remains unknown, with United remaining tight-lipped about the attack a week on.

However, the club have now enlisted the help of the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) in order to get to the bottom of the problem.

“The NSCS is aware of an incident affecting Manchester United Football Club,” a spokesman said via Sky Sports.

“And we are working with the organisation and partners to understand impact.”

It is concerning that one of the biggest organisations in the world (Manchester United) were easily targeted. And with these cyber criminals, you always find yourself wondering who or what is next?

United will need to tighten up the loose ends to ensure another hacking attempt is not successful. It’s a relief that customer data was safe but who knows what they will get their dirty hands on next?
