Diogo Dalot has joined Manchester United preseason training today.
The Manchester Evening News says the 22-year-old was given extended time off following his late call-up to the Portugal squad for the European Championship and Dalot started in the round-of-16 defeat to Belgium.
Dalot spent last season on loan at AC Milan, who offered to re-sign the right-back on another season-long loan last month, but United want to keep Dalot until they make a definitive decision on their plans at full-back.
United are interested in signing Atletico Madrid full-back Kieran Trippier, left-back Alex Telles has been ruled out for three weeks with an ankle injury and Brandon Williams is expected to head out on a season-long loan.
Dalot still enjoys a warm rapport with United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who could keep the Portuguese if a move for Trippier fails to materialise.
