La Liga outfit Valencia have on Thursday been afforded a timely boost on the personnel front.

This comes by way of confirmation that Diego López is primed for a return to matchday duties this weekend.

López, for his part, was forced into a premature departure from Valencia’s La Liga meeting with Almería earlier this month.

This came after a blow to the face left the attacker grounded, and in evident discomfort.

After being hooked from proceedings, and put through a series of medical tests, it was subsequently confirmed that the former Barcelona talent had suffered a broken zygomatic bone in his left eye.

López, in turn, underwent surgery to resolve the issue.

Spotted back at the Paterna Sports City donning a protective face mask over the last week, it had since remained unclear exactly when Rubén Baraja would be able to call upon a key member of his frontline once more.

As alluded to above, though, on Thursday, precisely that has been revealed.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, López is set to take his place in Valencia’s squad bound for Los Cármenes this weekend.

Los Che will face off against Granada on Saturday evening, desperate for a return to winning ways, with López’s presence set to provide a timely boost to what has looked a toothless attack over the course of the last couple of weeks.
