Diego Costa praised Cristiano Ronaldo after Spain’s scintillating 3-3 draw with Portugal.
The Atlético Madrid forward netted twice in Sochi, but his efforts were overshadowed by the Ballon d’Or winner who bagged himself a hat-trick.
And the 29-year-old was effusive in his praise for the Real Madrid record-breaker.
“You have to congratulate Cristiano. Criticise him and look what happens… It’s better to leave him alone, I wish I was like him,” he told Cadena COPE.
“It was a strange game, but I think we deserved to win, we created much more than them and had more of the ball. We came back twice but it wasn’t to be.”
