Markus Krösche, Dino Toppmöller and Philipp Max analyse the 1-1 draw against Bochum.

Board member for sport Markus Krösche: “Bochum did very well and really put us under pressure. We made too many simple mistakes, as a result of which the opponents were able to transition. We did well in the second half, we created chances and got some of the energy that we’ve been lacking in recent weeks. At the end of the day, we didn’t take the chances, so the result is frustrating.”

Head coach Dino Toppmöller: “We had good energy on the pitch in the second half, we got the crowd behind us during the frantic period and they supported us brilliantly. I was pleased with the team’s reaction after the Köln match but the result is unsatisfactory. We had a lot of chances to turn the game in our favour. I said to the team after the game that the second half has to be our standard in terms of our energy and power.”

Philipp Max: “On the whole we’re all very unhappy as we desperately wanted to win the match. We weren’t as good in the first half, had a lot of inconsistencies in our play – it was a very frantic game at times. The second half was an improvement in terms of fight, we had some massive chances but unfortunately didn’t take them.”
