Di Marzio exclusive: Juventus cannot afford Pogba & Man Utd won't help them | OneFootball

Juventus could struggle to afford Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

That is according to Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio.

Pogba recently stated he was enduring the most 'difficult period' of his career at Old Trafford.

The World Cup winner has started just five matches for United, admitting it was a 'breath of fresh air' to be on international duty with France.

United have triggered an option to extend Pogba's contract by another year until 2022.

That hasn't stopped speculation linking Pogba with a return to Juve.

Real Madrid have also been linked with the 27-year-old as they look to re-launch their 'Galatico' era.

But with the coronavirus pandemic ravishing finances, Di Marzio cannot see Juventus being able to afford Pogba.

And Di Marzio adds that United will unlikely help Juve out, like Fiorentina did by loaning Federico Chiesa to Turin for the season before completing a permanent move next summer.

Asked if he thought Juve should attempt to sign Pogba, Di Marzio told Tribalfootball.com: "It would be a great deal.

"He is a player who has the potential to change a team, Juventus' midfield would need his talent, his physical strength, his generosity, it would be a great signing, but I don't know if it is feasible with the economic difficulties of Juventus and Serie A.

"Manchester United does not help you like Fiorentina did for Chiesa, you have to spend a lot of money if you want this kind of players, in England all the clubs want cash and immediately… it will not be an easy situation due to the difficulties that our football is facing."
