Massimiliano Allegri welcomed new boys Di María and Bremer to the starting XI as Juve looked to start their Serie A campaign with a win.

But it was the away side who got off to the better start and really should have scored inside 20 minutes only to see Defrel have his close range effort saved by Mattia Perin.

Juve though, made their class show and took the lead on 26 minutes as Di María connected with a volley at the back post with the Argentine’s effort looping over the goalkeeper and into the back of the net.

The Old Lady really should have doubled their advantage soon after as Dusan Vlahović struck wide on the half-turn when it looked easier to score but the Serbia international soon made amends.

Vlahović won a penalty after being fouled by Gian Marco Ferrari and then dispatched from 12 yards just before the interval.

Into the second half and the two goalscorers combined on 50 minutes as Di María laid in Vlahović for his second of the night.

Di Maria would leave the pitch soon after, limping off with an adductor issue, to a rapturous reception from the home crowd.

Fellow new signing Filip Kostić then came on to make his own debut as the hosts cruised to their first win.
