En route to an eventual 4-0 Real Madrid romp, early in the 2nd-half, both Vinícius and Mingueza were shown yellow cards.

After the latter grabbed the jersey of Real’s explosive wide-man to stop a break from unfolding, Vinícius reacted angrily, turning to push Mingueza in forceful fashion.

A scuffle between both sets of players ensued, during which the latter was approached in an aggressive manner by several members of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.

Upon the dust settling, yellow cards were brandished in the direction of the two key protagonists, with Vinícius, for his part, having been swiftly criticised for failing to keep his composure at a pivotal moment once more.

As alluded to above, however, to the credit of the Brazilian, he did later go on to apologise to Mingueza.

As much was picked up on by the Movistar camera crew in attendance at the Santiago Bernabéu, and details the following message on the part of Vinícius:

“Brother, if you hold me & let go it’s okay. But I was still trying to run and then I got angry, brother I’m sorry.”
