Stade Rennais have missed out on European football for the first time in seven years. It is a failure that won’t be without consequences with a mass exodus afoot at the Breton club this summer.

Rennes’ 1-1 draw against RC Lens on Sunday sealed their fate. Going into the final game of the Ligue 1 season, Les Rennais cannot reach the European places. As a result, many key players are naturally considering their futures at Roazhon Park.

Some players are more certain to leave than others, although, according to reports by Ouest-France and L’Équipe, few players are guaranteed of remaining at the club. Ouest-France understands that Désiré Doué, Arnaud Kalimuendo, Bertug Yildirim nd Ibrahim Salah will leave the club this summer. Doué and Kalimuendo in particular are likely to garner considerable fees. Arthur Theate, Adrien Truffert and Christopher Wooh are all keen to leave Rennes this summer and will be allowed to do so if a reasonable offer is received.

Whilst the local publication understands that Martin Terrier, Amine Gouiri and Enzo Le Fée are all likely to stay, L’Équipe understands that all three could question their futures at Rennes, opening the door to a potential departure. Benjamin Bourigeaud, who recently expressed an interest in playing in the Premier League during an interview with Ouest-France, could also question his future this summer, as may Ludovic Blas.
