Denmark will extend their coach Kasper Hjulmand’s deal with the national team despite the team’s disappointing performance at the World Cup. The Danish federation’s director of football, Peter Møller, explained this at a press conference:

“We still want to extend. We’re not panicking because of nine days where we’ve lost two games and drawn one. We’re very happy with Kasper and we naturally hope that he will stay with us for a long time We have to admit that what we delivered was not good enough. We must pick up on that and learn from it, and we must find out why we performed the way we did… We have to find out what went wrong, and then it is our great wish that Kasper stays with us going forward. We have made a habit of qualifying for the knockout rounds of tournaments and we must remember that, leading up to the World Cup, we had a fantastic run in qualification where we did not concede a goal in the first eight games and won the first nine.”
