Barcelona youngster Denis Suárez will stay and fight for his place in the team despite heavy interest from Chelsea.
The 24-year-old hasn’t played a single minute in LaLiga this season for Ernesto Valverde’s men, falling well behind the likes of Malcom and Rafinha in the Blaugrana pecking order.
A story in Sport recently claimed that Maurizio Sarri’s side were keen on bringing Suárez to Stamford Bridge in January with the Catalan giants willing to sell for a relatively modest fee of €20m.
However Goal understands that the versatile midfielder wants to remain at Camp Nou until at least the end of the season in order to fight for a place in the starting XI.
It’s thought that the recent news of Rafinha’s season-ending injury has persuaded Suárez not to leave his boyhood club just yet but he will, if the situation remains the same, ask to be sold come the summer.
