Dender icon Ridwane M’Barki has left the club after eight seasons. The 31-year-old attacker drops back down to the Belgian second tier to join Patro Eisden. M’Barki had been a key player for Dender in previous seasons but saw his playing time reduce when they won promotion to the Pro League. As such, he brings some Challenger Pro League experience to Patro Eisden, a side keen on getting into the Pro League themselves.
M’Barki joined the side back in 2017 when they were playing in the third tier of Belgian football. During his time with the club he helped them gain promotion to the Challenger Pro League in 2021/2022, scoring nine goals in 34 games. During the promotion campaign of 2023/2024, M’Barki played 26 games in the league, scoring twice and grabbing seven assists. He leaves Dender having made 175 appearances and scoring 20 goals and is considered somewhat of a club icon by the sides fanbase.
