Daniele De Rossi spoke to the media after Roma’s 1-1 draw with Olympiakos in today’s friendly.
The Italian coach was asked about the team’s performance and what more can the fans expect from the market.
“We did some good things, some less so. What I liked least was that we went to the goalkeeper too often, it’s important to go there to get the opponents out, but when they come to get us it’s dangerous to play in our own area of the pitch.”
“We will improve, the pitch was good but we were a little slow and it wasn’t easy to find solutions, even if we succeeded at times.”
“Abraham? He played the same game as the others, it’s not easy to be brilliant for 45 minutes. I had to let everyone play and I made some substitutions, but I didn’t see him do badly.”
“We must ensure that our automatisms can alternate with the 4-2-3-1 and other solutions. It depends on the opponent, on the match, on how we have to defend, removing a midfielder can sometimes be a risk.”
“Le Fée? I like him as a player.”
“Speaking of market rumors, from June to today there are a thousand names that come out every day, we have sold players and we’ve signed some, too. We are calm, no one has to conquer me. We all think he is an important player, if he had played a little less well today we would be happy because we know his value, but it is better for him to always play as he did today. Enzo arrived before the others, perhaps this is also an advantage, we are very happy with him.”
“Soulé hadn’t played yet, and I didn’t want to push Dovbyk too hard. I always try to fit things together, but the desire was to see them together on the pitch and it’s a satisfaction. It’s not a given that they will always play together, I have a club behind me that makes these investments.”
“I am the one who has the most patience in this city, because everyone’s going crazy with every rumor that pops up and I know for a fact the club will make more investments and other strong players will arrive. Who will play is not important, it is important that at the end of the year there are no differences between the players on the pitch and the ones on the bench.”
