The saga surrounding Alphonso Davies appears to be entering the next round. While Bayern are still trying to convince the Canadian to extend his contract, another top club is now rumoured to be interested in signing Davies.

The negotiations surrounding an extension to Alphonso Davies‘ contract, which expires in 2025, have been dragging on for several months. Most recently, there were many indications that the Canadian international would leave Bayern. Davies has been linked with a move to Real Madrid for some time now – in the meantime, an agreement between the club and the player has already been reported.

As transfer expert Ekrem Konur reports, a move to the Spanish record champions is far from a done deal. Real are still interested in signing the speedy full-back. However, the Madrilenians now appear to be facing stiff competition for Davies.

Manchester City are also said to be keeping a close eye on developments in the Davies poker. If the Citizens do indeed enter the race for the 23-year-old, the transfer fee could rise considerably.

Bayern are still hoping for an extension

FC Bayern, meanwhile, are still hoping for a contract extension. A stay with the German record champions is by no means out of the question.

The recent public differences of opinion are said to have done nothing to change this. The Bayern bosses had issued an ultimatum to Davies‘ side and insisted on an early decision. In an interview with BILD, Davies‘ advisor criticised the Munich management’s approach and announced that they would not allow themselves to be put under pressure.

The „Roadrunner’s“ salary expectations are said to be the main reason for the difficult negotiations. According to Sky, he is demanding around 20 million euros, while Bayern’s pain threshold is said to be between 13 and 14 million euros.
