After four seasons with Paris Saint-Germain, Danilo Pereira has made a permanent move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad.

Born in Bissau (Guinea-Bissau) on 9 September 1991, Danilo Pereira was 6 years old when he moved to Portugal in 1997. A few years later, he made his footballing debut at Arsenal 72 and then GD Estoril Praia before joining Benfica in 2008, but never made a first-team appearance. He signed his first professional contract in 2010 with Parma, before going on loan to Aris Salonika and then Roda JC, before joining CS Marítimo, where he played for two years.

Signed by FC Porto in 2015, Danilo Pereira spent the majority of his career (202 appearances, 19 goals, 8 assists) with the club, winning the Portuguese league twice (2018 and 2020), the Portuguese SuperCup (2018) and the League Cup (2020). The defensive midfielder made 30 UEFA Champions League appearances (1 goal, 3 assists) with the Dragoes.

After arriving at Paris Saint-Germain in 2020, Danilo Pereira quickly won unanimous praise for his versatility and strength in one-on-one situations. The Portugal international won three French league titles (2022, 2023 and 2024), two Coupe de France (2021 and 2024) and three Trophée des Champions (2021, 2023 and 2024). In four seasons with Paris, he made 157 appearances, scoring 10 goals and providing 3 assists.

A Portugal international since the U18 level, Danilo Pereira made his first appearance for the senior side on 31 March, 2015, against Cape Verde. The midfielder has 74 caps to his name, with 2 goals, 1 assist, winning the European Championship in 2016 and the Nations League in 2019. He was also called up for Euro 2024.
