Nottingham Forest midfielder Danilo has completed a permanent move to Botafogo, signing a four-year deal with the Brazilian side.
The 24-year-old joined Forest from Palmeiras in January 2023 in a deal reportedly worth €22 million (£18.5m), including bonuses and performance-related clauses.
He made a strong impression early on, racking up 62 appearances in all competitions, most of them during his first full campaign at the City Ground.
Danilo kicked off the 2024/25 season as a regular in midfield, lining up next to Ibrahim Sangaré, but disaster struck on the opening day - he suffered a serious ankle injury just minutes into the clash with Bournemouth.
That setback kept him out for several months, and although he returned to action in January, he struggled to force his way back into the starting XI. He featured 12 more times before the season’s end but couldn’t quite recapture his earlier form in a now highly competitive Forest midfield.
