Roma boss Daniele De Rossi was asked to compare his current track record with Jose Mourinho’s in the first half of this season.
Following the Giallorossi’s win over Udinese, De Rossi responded to criticism aimed at the former Roma coach.
“The last thing I care about is who has more points,” De Rossi told Sky Sport referring to Mourinho’s 29 points in 20 games, compared to his own of 29 points in 13 Serie A games so far.
“It is clear that we are doing very well, even if someone forgets where we came from. We reentered a race for the Champions League that seemed closed to us because of how many teams we had ahead of us.”
“The guys are doing an incredible job, and I honestly think that the team would also have won tonight with the previous manager in charge, because it starts from the players and because they have a huge heart and those with a huge heart have the pride of champions that brings them out of those situations. They would have won even without me.”
