Monza’s 5-1 defeat against Lazio at the Olimpico was fatal for Salvatore Bocchetti, who was officially relieved of his coaching duties.

The club announced the decision with an official statement.

“AC Monza announces that it has decided to relieve Salvatore Bocchetti of his duties as coach of the First Team, thanking him for his work and wishing him all the best for his professional future”.

At the same time, the Brianza club announced the return of Alessandro Nesta.

The coach returns to the Monza bench after being dismissed on December 23, following the home defeat against Juventus.

“AC Monza announces that it has revoked the dismissal of Alessandro Nesta, who once again takes on the role of coach of the Biancorossa First Team”, reads the official statement.

Nesta will make his debut against Lecce at home on Sunday, while on February 24 he will face Roma at the Olimpico.
