Daniele De Rossi has reportedly asked the capital club to extend Leonardo Spinazzola’s contract.
The Italian fullback is currently only a few weeks away from becoming a free agent as all signs pointed to Spinazzola departing the Italian capital after 5 years.
With De Rossi’s arrival, however, Spinazzola’s plans of free agency may soon change as the technician has asked the club to seek a new contract for the 31-year-old, reports Italian journalist Eleonora Trotta.
In his early transfer-related discussions with the club, De Rossi has made it clear that he would be favorably toward the idea of extending Spinazzola’s contract on lower wages. It remains to be seen whether the club and the player entourage will agree on such a deal.
In recent days, Spinazzola had also drawn interest from the likes of Juventus, Milan and Barcelona.
