The vice-captain, who has regularly worn the armband this season, hobbled off in the 1-1 draw with Luton last weekend and missed the win at Middlesbrough.

Prior to Saturday's clash with Preston, the Leeds boss said: "Pascal, I can confirm his season is over, he doesn’t need surgery but will be out for 10 weeks".

Farke added that Joe Rothwell is "still out", while matchwinner at the Riverside, Dan James, is unavailable with a hamstring injury "and it will be a tight race" for the Easter weekend clashes with Oxford and Stoke.

The German also said that Sam Chambers is out through illness.

Leeds currently sit top of the Championship on goal difference with five games left to play in one of the tightest automatic promotion races in years.
