RB Leipzig midfielder Dani Olmo has slammed Barcelona for their conduct during the January transfer window.
Olmo – who started his career with Barça in their famous La Masia academy – impressed for Dinamo Zagreb this season and was heavily linked with a return to the club.
But as the LaLiga club battled indecision, RB Leipzig swooped in and secured a €25m deal when it was too late.
“I had the sense that they were not seriously interested in me,” he told Mundo Deportivo.
“In November, they talked to my agent like they wanted to get it done quickly, but then all of a sudden it was moved.
“Then, in January, just as I was going to Leipzig, they asked me to wait again. But I had already made a decision.
“I wanted to go to a team that offered me a perspective – Leipzig was able to do that, other teams weren’t.
“I have no regrets. I think this was the best option for me and still is.”
Olmo has since made eight appearances for the Bundesliga outfit, scoring one goal.
