FC Barcelona midfielder Dani Olmo is one of the best attacking midfielders in the world, but he doesn’t receive as much recognition as some others due to his torrid injury history.
Excelling at playing between the lines, Olmo’s close control, intelligence, and vision make him stand out in that role. He is one of Hansi Flick’s most important players when fit, and rightly so.
Recently, the Spaniard opened up in an interview quoted by Mundo Deportivo, where he shared insights about the FC Barcelona dressing room. When asked about the funniest players in the squad, Olmo replied:
There are quite a few. I’d say Ferran and Eric.
Asked to elaborate on Eric Garcia, who comes across as quiet to many, Olmo added:
He seems quiet, right? But when he teams up with Ferran… they’re a good combo.
Dani Olmo then addressed who he believes is the shyest member of the squad:
Ufff! Maybe Andreas. He talks, but not too much. He’s there. He says a bit, but it’s tough for him. His language is English. He speaks more English, but he understands.
Ferran is someone who comes off as quite charismatic. It is no surprise to see him get labelled the funniest but the surprise name here is Eric.
Much like he has done on the field in recent months, Eric, being a funny person, has come as a surprise to fans. However, one will have to take Dani Olmo’s words for that.
Christensen, on the other hand, comes across as the shy type, except for when he scores a banger like he did against FC Seoul. It is only then that the Dane erupts.
Olmo’s words offer further insight into this tight-knit Barcelona dressing room. Let’s wait and see how they perform on the pitch this upcoming season.
