The Brazilian defender opened up on why Les Parisiens weren’t able to beat Real Madrid in their UEFA Champions League tie.
His words will surely create controversy among his team-mates since he believes that their reluctance to work as a unit was the main reason for their downfall against Los Blancos.
“Being eliminated from a major tournament is not about luck. I’ve lived that with the Brazilian team. We didn’t work as a team and everyone could see it. PSG is in a transition right now, and that lack of unity among us can’t be hidden,” Alves stated.
The 34-year-old defender also slammed the club’s owners and coach, claiming their lack of unity is keeping the club from accomplishing great things in Europe.
“Being a coach these days is a lot of work, and making the team play as it is supposed to have a lot of merit, but there are things taking place behind the scenes that don’t help at all. We have it in Brazil’s National Team, but not here,” Alves added.
