Borussia Dortmund’s Dan-Axel Zagadou (22) is receptive to the idea of a return to France when his contract expires this summer.

Speaking about his future to beIN Sports, the former PSG academy product said, “I don’t necessarily have a preference. I think my choice will be important for the rest of my career. For me, the most important thing is to play. I am hoping to stay in Europe.”

He continued, “I will see with my entourage and my agents what offers are on the table, and then we’ll make a decision together. A return to Ligue 1? Of course. I left to go abroad very young, so it would be good for me to go back to France. I’m not putting up any barriers to a return.”

Zagadou has struggled since moving to Germany. He hasn’t made more 17 appearances in any of his seasons in the Bundesliga. Manchester United have previously been sounded out as a possible destination for the France U21 international.
