Manchester United and England legend Wayne Rooney is back in English football having been appointed the new manager of Birmingham City. Rooney takes charge of the Championship outfit having left his role as DC United head coach over the weekend, and he links up with NFL icon Tom Brady, who became a minority owner at St Andrews over the summer.
Bayer Leverkusen have been a revelation in the Bundesliga this season, playing some highly entertaining football and topping the table after the first seven matches. Their form has brought coach Xabi Alonso to the attention of some of Europe’s top clubs, and Get German Football News report how the Spaniard has a clause in his Leverkusen contract which could allow him to one day return to one of his former clubs.
Despite only hiring him in the summer, Serie A champions Napoli are set to part company with coach Rudi Garcia.
