Crystal Palace have rejected two separate offers from Liverpool for Marc Guehi this summer, with both bids falling well short of the club’s valuation.

Guehi’s uncertain contract situation has prompted interest from several Premier League sides, but Palace are determined not to lose one of their most valuable assets on the cheap.

Talks over a new deal have not progressed significantly, though the South London outfit remain hopeful of either agreeing fresh terms or selling on their own timeline.

Liverpool, who are keen to reinforce their defence and view Guehi as a long-term solution, have so far refused to meet Palace’s demands.

The Merseyside club are also targeting attacking reinforcements, with Alexander Isak among the names being considered, and are expected to remain cautious in their spending unless player sales free up further funds.

The Reds’ strategy is unlikely to involve a bidding war for Guehi, especially given the potential to sign him on a free transfer next summer.

While they are understood to rate the England international highly, Liverpool do not intend to be drawn into an extended negotiation if Palace remain firm on their price.

Guehi, who impressed again last season, has attracted interest from other Premier League clubs including Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Newcastle United.

The Magpies saw a £65 million bid turned down last year, and Palace are reluctant to accept a lower figure this time around despite the risk of losing the player for nothing in 2026.

For now, Guehi is expected to remain part of Oliver Glasner’s plans for the upcoming campaign, although sources close to the player suggest he would be open to a move this summer if the right offer arrived.

A switch to Liverpool, with the club preparing for another title challenge under Arne Slot, is believed to appeal to the 25-year-old.

Palace, however, are prepared to take their chances. They are not actively looking to sell and would rather keep Guehi for another season than accept a bid that fails to reflect his value.

Unless a club meets their valuation, the England defender is likely to begin the 2025–26 season at Selhurst Park.
