Crystal Palace have signed Spain international Yeremy Pino from Villarreal in a deal worth up to £26 million.

The 22-year-old winger has agreed a five-year contract and will be available for Sunday’s Premier League fixture at Aston Villa.

Pino arrives as Palace’s most high-profile signing of the summer, taking the number ten shirt at Selhurst Park.

He becomes the club’s third addition of the window after goalkeeper Walter Benitez and defender Borna Sosa.

Palace chairman Steve Parish described Pino as ‘an exciting young talent’ and said his record in Spain and Europe made him a perfect fit for the club.

Pino’s contract had a release clause of £69 million, but Villarreal opted to cash in with less than two years remaining on his deal.

He made his debut for Villarreal in 2020 and quickly established himself as a regular starter.

Pino played 170 games for the club, scoring 22 goals and providing 23 assists across all competitions.

The winger was part of the Villarreal side that won the Europa League in 2021, becoming one of the youngest Spaniards to start a major European final.

His international career has also progressed rapidly, with three goals in 15 caps since his debut in 2021.

He featured in Spain’s Nations League final win over Croatia last year and is considered one of the most promising wide players of his generation.

Palace moved for Pino following the £60 million departure of Eberechi Eze to Arsenal earlier this month.

The sale of their playmaker created both funds and a creative gap that the club were keen to address.

Pino’s arrival is expected to provide new options in attack as Palace balance domestic and European commitments.

The winger expressed his delight at joining the Premier League, saying it had ‘long been a dream’ to play in England.

Palace still face questions over the future of captain Marc Guehi, who is out of contract next year and has attracted interest from Liverpool.

The signing of Pino signals clear ambition as the club looks to build on recent progress under manager Oliver Glasner.
