HBVL are reporting that newly promoted RWDM could be set for a temporary transfer ban. It has been revealed that the club still owe Oostende money for the transfer of Mickaël Biron last summer. The amount that is reported to be owed to the coastal club is €605k of the €2.5m transfer fee. RWDM have confirmed that the payment will be made, however it raises further questions about the goings on at the club after recent drama around leadership.

At the beginning of June, RWDM owner John Textor accused Thierry Dailly of misappropriation of clubs funds and creating a toxic working environment. As such, he replaced Dailly as President of the club. Fan groups reacted angrily in response, threatening to caues disruption to matches if Dailly was not reinstated.

RWDM are part of Textor’s multi-club group, which includes Botafogo, Crystal Palace and Lyon. Recently, the American made the same move to become chairman of Lyon. RWDM fans are keen that the American does not do as he wishes with their club. The fan group said ‘There are rules in Molenbeek and we are going to make it clear to John Textor that he is not doing what he wants at RWDM’.
