What could Gustavo Nunes bring to the Etihad?

Gustavo Nunes plays primarily on the left wing for Gremio and his play has drawn comparisons to Neymar during the early stages of his career. The close control and dribbling ability of the young Brazilian is a standout feature of his play. His technical ability is also another feature of the youngsters’ game.

Brazilian journalist Filipe Guedes had this to say to United in Focus when asked about Gustavo Nunes: “Gustavo Cunha is a left-winger that became professional for Gremio on this year. He did great in Copinha, two assists and two goals, our main Youth Championship. On Gremio’s first team, quickly he became a regular starter on the Regional Championship. He is a fast and good dribbler. Also, he isn’t a greedy player, always looking for other partners that have better conditions to shoot. Which is impressive, because most of young wingers usually take many wrong decisions on pitch.

The young Brazilian starlet would appear to be a signing for the future for Manchester City.

Given his age and profile, Gustavo Nunes would appear to be a signing for the future if Manchester City were to complete a deal for youngster. If he were to arrive at the Etihad, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him loaned out to a club like Girona to develop his game. He could potentially follow the path taken by Yan Couto since he was signed by Manchester City.

Gustavo Nunes does appear to be a player that Manchester City could potentially sign. His talent is obvious and the potential to develop the Brazilian starlet does fit the bill as a potential City signing. The world champions also aren’t shy to snap up young South American talent. Their recent signing of Claudio Echeverri is proof of this.

Manchester City’s reported interest in Gustavo Nunes may be one story to watch for. Given how highly regarded his is in Brazil it does make a potential move from the treble winners does seem like a possibility this summer.
