Paris Saint-Germain are still hopeful that they can sign Gianluigi Donnarumma from AC Milan, according to il Corriere della Sera.

Paolo Maldini declared publicly before the Roma game that the club will everything to extend his contract because the young goalkeeper is now an absolute leader in the team, but with every week that ticks by the situation gets more and more precarious.

According to CorSera (via ESPN), PSG sporting director Leonardo has had Donnarumma on his wish list ever since he made the move to the French capital after leaving his job at the Rossoneri.

There is no agreement in place with Milan yet regarding the extension of Donnarumma’s current deal, which expires in June 2021, and despite the fact the 21-year-old wants to stay the French champions are still hopeful that they can convince him to join their project.

Leonardo apparently knows that Milan are facing financial difficulties having recorded record losses, and that the Rossoneri would struggle to match the kind of contract that the Parisians could table.
