It’s fair to say that England’s final Euro 2024 qualifier didn’t go according to plan.

But a controversial penalty decision left them trailing at the interval after Rico Lewis caught Bojan Miovski with a flailing arm in the area.

The Manchester City starlet was ultimately penalised on his international debut as the hosts’ captain Enis Bardhi stepped up from the spot.

Although Jordan Pickford saved his initial effort, the Trabzonspor forward converted the rebound to condemn England to a half-time deficit.

Fortunately for the Three Lions, they were still able to salvage their unbeaten qualification record through Harry Kane’s second-half leveller.
