Darren Bond has been named as the referee for Manchester City’s Premier League clash against Brentford at the Etihad Stadium.

Pep Guardiola’s side return to action following the September international break on Saturday afternoon, welcoming Brentford to the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League, and looking to extend their winning start to the campaign.

Manchester City have registered wins against Chelsea, Ipswich Town and West Ham already this season, and are unbeaten at the Etihad Stadium since a 1-2 loss to Brentford in November 2022, prior to the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Only Manchester City and Liverpool have won their opening three games of the season, meanwhile Brentford have registered two league victories, beating both Crystal Palace and Southampton.

Erling Haaland scored the only goal during a 1-0 win over Brentford in February, with the 24-year-old having already scored seven goals in the Premier League this season, emphatically netting successive hat-tricks last month.

Phil Foden scored a hat-trick in the reverse fixture last season, and the Englishman could make his first start of the season for Manchester City this weekend, following a recent absence due to illness.

Ahead of Saturday’s clash at the Etihad, the Premier League have announced the Match Officials for Manchester City’s meeting with Brentford.

Match Referee

Darren Bond has been named as the referee for Manchester City’s Premier League clash against Brentford at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The referee, who had to act as a linesman at St James’ Park last month, officiated 24 matches last season, showing 101 yellow cards and three red cards.

Assistant Referees

Bond will be accompanied in east Manchester by Assistant Referees Adrian Holmes and Simon Long.

Video Assistant Referees

Overviewing proceedings will be Video Assistant Referee Darren England and Assistant Video Assistant Referee Harry Lennard.

Fourth Official

Ben Toner has been named as the Fourth Official.

The referee will be overseeing conduct within the two dugouts, and the behaviour of managers Pep Guardiola and Thomas Frank.
