Jadon Sancho will probably play as a false nine for Manchester United this morning as Rasmus Hojlund is sidelined after picking up a hamstring injury against Arsenal on Sunday.

The club confirmed before the game that Hojlund’s injury is worse than feared and that it will keep him out for around six weeks.

There was even worse news regarding new signing Leny Yoro, whose metatarsal injury means he will miss the first three months of the season.

Erik ten Hag will be desperate to avoid further injuries today as last season’s injury jinx already looks to have continued in this campaign.

As for this morning, Tom Heaton is in goal for the Red Devils.

In defence, Aaron Wan-Bissaka plays at right back, Harry Amass at left back and Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof are the centre backs.

There is a three man midfield comprising Casemiro, Scott McTominay and Christian Eriksen.

Marcus Rashford, Amad Diallo and Sancho are the front three.

The subs are Dermot Mee, Andre Onana, Jonny Evans, Will Fish, Sam Murray, Toby Collyer, Jack Fletcher, Hannibal, Sam Mather, Mason Mount, Maxi Oyedele, James Scanlon, Antony and Ethan Wheatley.

Altay Bayindir, Diogo Dalot, Luke Shaw, Lisandro Martinez, Kobbie Mainoo, Bruno Fernandes, Alejandro Garnacho, Facu Pellistri and Josh Zirkzee are not on the tour, having returned later from their international duties.

Tyrell Malacia is still continuing his individual recovery from the foot injury that kept him sidelined for the whole of last season.

Kick off at the Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego is at 3am BST.
