Confirmed Man United XI vs Newcastle United: Rasmus Hojlund rested, Bruno Fernandes returns | OneFootball

Bruno Fernandes is back in the Manchester United starting lineup to face Newcastle United this evening.

The United skipper has recovered from an injury that saw him miss the last two games of United’s campaign.

He will probably play in the false nine position, with Amad Diallo and Alejandro Garnacho on the wings. Scott McTominay is also in the side so he might also play an advanced role, either the 10 in a 4-2-3-1 or more likely the eight in a 4-3-3.

Rasmus Hojlund is rested and will start on the bench.

Elsewhere, Andre Onana is in goal.

The full backs are Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Casemiro and Jonny Evans continue at centre back.

Sofyan Amrabat retains his place in midfield alongside Kobbie Mainoo.

Joining Hojlund on the bench are Altay Bayindir, Toby Collyer, Willy Kambwala, Lisandro Martinez, Christian Eriksen, Omari Forson, Marcus Rashford and Antony.

Martinez is likely to be given some minutes toward the end of the game to get him match fit in time for the FA Cup final.

Raphael Varane, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia and Anthony Martial are all still injured.

With Varane having announced he is leaving United at the end of the season and Martial all but confirmed to be joining him, this means the two Frenchman won’t be seen at Old Trafford in a United shirt again.

Kick-off at Old Trafford is at 8pm.
