Manchester City take on Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, hoping to maintain their 100 per cent winning start to the new campaign.
The reigning champions have proven their own manager wrong by starting the new season in fine form, recording convincing victories in away contests against Chelsea and West Ham United, whilst also dismissing of Ipswich Town with ease at the Etihad Stadium.
The season is only expected to intensify from here on and the return of club football following the international break will also see Manchester City welcome the return of Champions League and Carabao Cup action into their schedule.
Brentford are the visitors to the Etihad Stadium this weekend, as Thomas Frank’s side look to add to their commendable record of three wins and one defeat across all competitions after the opening month of the season.
Much of Manchester City’s success this season will depend on the club’s ability to keep their players fit, and the recently-concluded international break added to a few minor concerns elsewhere, with Nathan Ake stretchered off against Germany for the Netherlands.
The Dutchman is understandably absent from the Manchester City matchday squad this weekend, whilst Phil Foden and Savinho threw themselves back into contention having trained with the wider squad throughout the week.
Ahead of kick-off at the Etihad Stadium, here is how both Pep Guardiola and Thomas Frank have lined up their respective Manchester City and Brentford sides in Premier League action!
