La Liga giants Barcelona have on Thursday agreed to the sale of a highly-regarded up-and-coming member of the club’s defensive ranks.
The player in question? Mikayil Faye.
The name of stopper Faye has of course positioned itself front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital across the week to date.
This comes after widespread confirmation was forthcoming that, amid their ongoing efforts to raise funds, the Barcelona brass had come to the decision to part ways with the Senegalese international.
A number of clubs from across the continent, in turn, quickly expressed a keen interest in Faye’s signature.
And, as alluded to above, on Thursday, one such outfit have struck gold.
As per a report from transfer insider Fabrizio Romano:
‘Rennes agree deal to sign Mika Faye from Barça, here we go! After official bid submitted last week as revealed, deal done with medical to follow on Friday.’
The terms of the agreement are as follows:
A €12 million fixed fee to Barcelona, 25% future sell-on clause and a buyback clause for the Blaugrana, set at €35 million.
