Miami, FL - Concacaf is proud to celebrate the selection of its Chief Football Competitions Officer, Carlos Fernández, to the prestigious Leaders Under 40 Class of 2025—an honor that reflects both his personal leadership and the Confederation’s ongoing transformation.
Awarded by Leaders in Sport, the annual recognition celebrates professionals shaping the future of global sport. Carlos’s inclusion highlights the work being done across Concacaf to deliver more modern, inclusive, and high-impact football competitions for our 41 Member Associations under the One Concacaf vision.
“This recognition is a testament to the caliber of leadership we are proud to foster at Concacaf,” said Victor Montagliani, Concacaf President and FIFA Vice President. “Carlos embodies our pillars of unity, football, quality, and access, and his impact on football in our region has been exceptional.”
Over the past decade, Carlos has played a central role in elevating the Confederation’s flagship men’s and women’s tournaments, modernizing qualification systems, and expanding opportunities. His leadership within the international football network has helped strengthen the Confederation’s position on the global stage.
Philippe Moggio, Concacaf General Secretary, added: “Carlos leads our Football Division with humility and purpose. He has helped shape a stronger, more connected Confederation, and we are thrilled to see him honored on a global stage.”
Carlos will be celebrated alongside fellow honorees on September 30 at the Leaders Sports Awards in London.
