Como head coach Cesc Fabregas expressed his admiration for Serie A title holders Inter Milan and their manager, Simone Inzaghi.

Speaking to DAZN via FCInterNews, Fabregas admitted he seized the chance to talk to Inzaghi during last week’s match at Giuseppe Meazza.

Inter went through a great deal of trouble to see off Como.

Following a goalless first half, Carlos Augusto and Marcus Thuram inspired the Nerazzurri to a 2-0 win.

However, Fabregas’ side gave their more esteemed hosts a run for their money.

For context, the game was in limbo until second-half stoppages before Thuram slammed home a rocket missile.

Despite facing long odds, Fabregas didn’t go down without a fight.

Widely considered among Europe’s most talented young coaches, the Spaniard has always been passionate about football.

Therefore, he seized the occasion to learn from one of the best in business.

Fabregas admits he met with Simone Inzaghi in the locker rooms after the game to share the knowledge.

“Yes, I managed to talk to him,” he said. “I went to his office, and we stayed there for 15-20 minutes.

“We discussed personal training insights, and I wanted to understand how he implements certain aspects of Inter’s play that I admire.

“I love talking about football and learning as much as possible.

“If I have the chance for a coach to observe one of my training sessions or for me to watch and chat with another coach.

“It’s incredibly valuable to me.”

A brief chat with Inzaghi has paid immediate dividends as Como defeated Lecce yesterday to steer four points clear of the drop zone.

However, Fabregas can’t rest easy, with his side staring down the barrel of a season-long fight against relegation.

Meanwhile, Inter will take a short break from their Serie A duties as they prepare to defend their Supercoppa Italiana crown.
