The asking price of Alessandro Buongiorno is rising as the competition grows to land the Torino defender, according to a report.

According to Calciomercato.com, it is not just the big names in Italy that are after Buongiorno, though they were perhaps the first to notice his talent. Inter, Milan and Juventus are all keen on him in view of the summer window, but for Serie A clubs it will not be easy to snatch him from Urbano Cairo.

The price that has been set is already quite high and there will not be any discounts. The demand is €40m at the moment, net of the inclusion of possible players as counterparts to be agreed between the clubs that would bring the cash sum down.

In the last few hours, interest is also arriving from abroad which will complicate the negotiations even more and could see an auction break out involving clubs who have much deeper pockets.

According to the Daily Express, Spurs are looking to repeat the Destiny Udogie coup (who they signed from Torino) and they are keen on not only signing Buongiorno but the possibility of leaving him in Turin for another year on loan and then bringing him to the Premier League.

It was recently reported by La Repubblica that Milan want to try and get a deal wrapped up for Buongiorno before the European Championships, having begun talks in January without getting the desire outcome.
