AC Milan are hoping to be able to announce the permanent signing of Alex Jimenez from Real Madrid in the coming weeks, but the terms of the deal have changed.

As Calciomercato.com reports, the management are working to turn Jimenez’s loan into a permanent deal given that he has convinced everyone and has even made five first team appearances under Stefano Pioli.

At the moment there is nothing definitive, but the negotiation continues and could come to fruition after Easter, when Geoffrey Moncada and Giorgio Furlani should meet the entourage of the defender from Leganés.

The details of the agreement are to be confirmed, but there is a total desire to continue together from all parties, because Jimenez is doing well in Milan and the management are happy with his season so far and his growth.

To buy Jimenez, Milan – as per the agreement from last summer – must invest €5m. The Spaniard is in fact on loan with an option to buy set at that figure, with Real Madrid being able to exercise a buy-back only in 2025 and 2026 and for a sum exceeding €10m.

In the talks the two clubs the economic terms could change, with Milan potentially paying less as a transfer fee, adding bonuses to raise the figure above €5m, with a higher buy-back amount.
