Qatar is reportedly considering taking on the organization of the 2029 Club World Cup. At least, that's what the British media outlet The Guardian is reporting.

According to information from The Guardian, Qatar has expressed interest in hosting the 2029 Club World Cup. Qatari officials are said to have met with senior FIFA representatives in the United States in recent days. However, there is a major issue: the heat.

Indeed, this year's Club World Cup is being held in the United States during the summer, at the end of the season. But if Qatar were to host the next edition, the extreme temperatures would force organizers to move the tournament to winter, just like in 2022. This would be unusual, as the participating clubs would be in the thick of their domestic campaigns.

Qatar is not alone in this race—Spain and Morocco have also expressed their desire to host the 2029 Club World Cup. It could serve as a dress rehearsal ahead of the 2030 World Cup.
