Club Brugge have announced the signing of 18-year-old Victor Barbera from Barcelona. The Spanish striker has signed a four-year-deal with the club that will cover him until 2027. It has been in the pipeline for a while now that Barbera would be moving from Spain to Belgium. Barbera follows in the footsteps of Ferran Jutgla who made the same move last summer. He went on to score 13 league goals in his first season in Belgium.
Club Brugge have been active already in the transfer market, with Mikal Skoras and Igor Tiago already having signed. It is also expected that they will formally announce the signing of Norwegian midfielder Hugo Vetlesen in the coming days.
After finishing in a disappointing fourth place during the 2022/2023 season, Club Brugge are actively looking to improve the squad and mount another title charge next season. Ronny Deila has been brought in from Standard Liege to lead the rejuvenation of the side after an uncharacteristically bad season.
